Toys and Hobbies nearly doubled on TikTok Shop in a single month last November, posting an 87.5% unit lift from October to November 2025, while Beauty added 6.17 million raw units and four of the ten best-selling Black Friday products were priced under $12. These are not projections. They are what actually happened during Black Friday 2025, and they are the only honest starting point for your 2026 planning.

Black Friday 2026 falls on 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Brands that have not already locked in inventory, creator partnerships, and promotional structures by late September will be executing in catch-up mode. The decisions that determine your Black Friday outcome are made now, not in November. And those decisions should be grounded in data, not category intuition.

How to Read Black Friday Category Data Correctly

Most category analysis on TikTok Shop ranks by absolute volume. That tells you where demand already exists. It does not tell you where Black Friday itself creates a demand spike on top of baseline volume. The more useful signal is the October-to-November lift: how much did each category accelerate specifically because of the Black Friday event?

That distinction changes which categories deserve your attention and your inventory commitment.

The Categories Black Friday Actually Amplified in 2025

Based on US market data comparing October 2025 baseline units against November 2025 units, the Black Friday lift by category broke down as follows:

  • Toys and Hobbies: 2.04M to 3.82M units, +87.5% lift
  • Beauty and Personal Care: 13.00M to 19.17M units, +47.5% lift
  • Phones and Electronics: 3.37M to 4.57M units, +35.7% lift
  • Home Supplies: 5.00M to 6.78M units, +35.6% lift
  • Sports and Outdoor: 3.14M to 4.13M units, +31.2% lift
  • Health: 3.68M to 4.75M units, +29.0% lift
  • Fashion Accessories: 4.34M to 5.39M units, +24.1% lift
  • Food and Beverages: 2.34M to 2.87M units, +22.9% lift
  • Womenswear and Underwear: 8.14M to 9.95M units, +22.3% lift
  • Menswear and Underwear: 2.48M to 2.97M units, +19.9% lift

Toys and Hobbies: The Biggest Percentage Mover With an Important Caveat

Toys and Hobbies added 1.78 million units between October and November 2025. No other category produced a comparable percentage acceleration in a single month. The category also posted 126.8% GMV growth year over year during that November, meaning the Black Friday spike landed on top of an already expanding market.

The caveat matters. As of August 2026, the category's GMV is down 15.4% year over year even while units are up 2.2%. Buyers are still purchasing, but average selling prices have compressed. If your toy SKU depends on last year's price point to make the unit economics work, run those numbers again before committing inventory. This is a volume play with tight margins, not a margin play on premium positioning.

Beauty and Personal Care: Where the Absolute Scale Lives

Beauty's 47.5% lift is smaller than Toys in percentage terms, but the raw unit addition of 6.17 million units between October and November dwarfs every other category. For CPG brands that care about moving volume and building TikTok Shop velocity, Beauty is where the scale is. It has been the largest category on TikTok Shop US consistently, and Black Friday amplifies that lead rather than closing it.

For CPG brands operating on TikTok Shop, Beauty is also where creator-affiliate infrastructure pays off most visibly. The category's purchase behaviour is driven heavily by social proof and demonstration content. Brands that arrive at Black Friday with activated affiliates and seeded creators already posting will convert at a structurally higher rate than brands that try to spin up creator programs in November.

Electronics: The Defensible Pick for 2026

Phones and Electronics lifted 35.7% in November 2025 and posted 126.3% GMV growth year over year during that month, nearly matching Toys on the growth metric. More importantly, as of August 2026 the category's GMV is down just 1.3% year over year with units up 5.0%. That is the smallest year-over-year decline of any major category tracked. For brands that want Black Friday lift without the pricing pressure eroding Toys margins, Electronics is the most stable choice heading into this November.

The Price Point Signal Most Brands Miss

Four of the ten best-selling Black Friday products on TikTok Shop US in November 2025 were priced under $12. That is the most counterintuitive data point in the entire analysis, and it is the one most brands planning their Black Friday assortment will ignore. High-ticket items feel like natural Black Friday plays. The actual consumer behaviour on TikTok Shop skews toward impulsive, high-frequency, low-risk purchases that the platform's discovery format accelerates.

This does not mean premium products cannot win. It means your promotional architecture needs to account for how TikTok Shop consumers make decisions at scale. A $9.99 hero SKU with strong affiliate support will often generate more units in a Black Friday window than a $59 product with a 30% discount and no creator velocity behind it.

What Separates Brands That Win Black Friday From Brands That Watch It

The gap between brands that capitalise on Black Friday on TikTok Shop and brands that underperform is not primarily a product selection gap. It is an operational and structural gap. Inventory is committed and positioned weeks in advance. Affiliate relationships are activated and content is seeding before the event window opens. Promotional pricing is structured to drive velocity, not just margin recovery.

Brands working with an advice-only consultant get a category recommendation and a spreadsheet. Brands working with a partner that actually operates their TikTok Shop channel get inventory decisions made in real time, creator pipelines already producing content, and promotional mechanics built around the platform's algorithm rather than a generic retail calendar. The difference shows up in the unit numbers after the event closes.

For brands also operating on Amazon, the Black Friday period is a cross-channel event. TikTok Shop drives discovery and impulse volume. Amazon captures the intent-driven buyer who saw the product on social and searched to confirm. A partner managing both channels as one system will convert that traffic loop into compounding revenue. A partner managing only one channel leaves the other half of the flywheel spinning without a catcher.

Black Friday 2026 is 11 weeks out. The brands positioned to win it are making decisions this month, not next month.
